Amenity Category is a grouping of one or more Amenity or Reservable Spaces. In order to create a new Amenity, you will first need to create an Amenity Category. This article describes the different Reservation Types to select from while setting up your Amenity Category.

  1. Slot Category is useful for shared amenity Spaces that may have multiple reservations throughout the day for a set duration (e.g., a swimming pool or gym, reservable for 2-hour slots). Each slot can be limited to one or more reservations.
  2. Standard Category is helpful for Spaces that are exclusive to one reservation at a time (e.g., a clubhouse) without a set duration.
  3. One-of-Many Category is ideal when there are lots of the same types of amenity spaces (e.g. workstations or phone booths or showers) with uniform features.

You can choose which type of Space Category you want to use from the dropdown menu when setting it up. Read through the following examples to help you better understand the different Reservation Types.

Slot Category

If the Space you are setting up should be available to multiple users throughout the day for a set period of time (e.g., 1 hour each):

1. You want to select Slot Category from the pulldown.

2. Under the Space Category Title, it is helpful to use a name that describes the function of the space (e.g., Pool, Fitness Center, Peloton Bike, etc.).

3. Add a background image by clicking on the grey square where the image should go, and selecting a jpg file from your computer.

4. Set the booking rule on how far in advance the space can be booked by entering a number (in hours) in the field, and then using the pulldown to select “day,” “week,” or “month.” For instance, if you enter 2 in the field and select “week,” users can book 2 weeks in advance of the reservation date.

5. Click to save the Amenity Category.

Now that the Amenity Category has been set up, you can set up an Amenity within the Amenity Category. You can set the booking rules on how long a Slot Length should be, and the number of spots available per slot. Different Amenities within the same Amenity Category can have different Slot Lengths and number of spots available per slot.

Below is an example of what the user will see on their mobile app for a Slot Reservation. In this example, the Slot Reservation is for a Fitness Center with 1-hour slot lengths and a 4-person capacity. (Note you can also limit the total number of hours a user can book for a given time period.)
